| Description/Bio: | We need gritty, creative, visceral, inspiring, poignant films. The Boulder Adventure Film Festival's jury is currently in the process of selecting films for screening at our Fall 2008 festival and world tour. Short films, 30 minutes or less, are greatly preferred, but longer films are also an integral part of this Festival. We are looking for films from all aspects of Adventure, from conservation-oriented documentaries, to extreme sports and exploratory productions, to urban and social perspectives. BAFF also host's a family and kids adventure series, so films that are better suited to a younger audience are also needed. Finalists will be screened the 1st week in November at Boulder's best venue, the historic Boulder Theater, with cinema size screen, full bar and surround sound. Opportunities will exist for the filmmakers to sell copies of their film at the screening. Finalists will receive two passes to the Film Festival and an in-town package. Prizes are awarded for best films. Standard Submission Deadline is the May 25th. Extended Deadline is June 8th. Our Without a Box submission system is simple and quick. But for any questions, don't hesitate to call or email. We look forward to viewing your work. Include 2 - DVD-R copies of your film and, if possible, 2 - 300dpi (4"x6") jpeg images from your production. MAKE YOUR OWN LEGENDS Celebrate the fantastic and true experiences of people and Adventure. Boulder's own international forum for the best and most inspiring independent films of the year encompassing all aspects of adventure, from serious exploration to environmental heroism to gripping tales from the edges of the believable. November 7-9, 2008. Film Festival Water, Activism, Rock, Fire, Music, Ice, Humor. What does Adventure mean to you? It means all of these things and more to the filmmakers, athletes and activist who make this event happen. From hundreds of submissions, over 25 films have been selected by a local jury. These films cover the range of human adventure from heart-stopping athleticism to environmental documentaries to the far reaches of the earth and mind. From this selection, award winners are presented in categories ranging from "Best Adventure Sport Film" to "Activism through Adventure Award". Each film session is unique with different film selections and filmmakers, athletes and visionaries live and on-stage.
