| Description/Bio: |
Moonwalk for Earth started in '99 as a vision for change. Since then it has gained momentum and is closer to reality.
Moonwalk for Earth aims to raise awareness for renewable energy and energy efficiency in an entertaining way.
The MFE team holds the world record for the longest relay moonwalk (30 miles), and travels to schools to talk with students about our record-breaking feat while encouraging their involvement in the renewable energy movement.
In the spirit of JFK, we suggest a research and development program similar in scale to the mission to the moon, and for man to take one giant leap towards renewable energy!!!
The Moonwalk for Earth team earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records in October of 2002!!! We had an incredible time establishing the world’s longest relay moonwalk (30-miles) from Boulder to Denver, Colorado and received great publicity for our feat. In August of 2004, we accomplished a 10-mile relay effort in San Francisco and had a strong finish by moonwalking 1.6 miles over the Golden Gate Bridge. The MFE team was flown down to Austin, Texas to defend our 1.6-mile moonwalk record in January of 2005. We went up against two fearless competitors and filmed an up-and-coming MTV show named “Call 2 Greatness” that will air in October of 2005.
